To Dell's future consumer We have purchased many, many products from Dell over the years ($16k within the last year) and I have not had any difficult problems, thus far. In fact when I ordered a customized 8200 desktop it arrived exactly 3 days later to my surprise, seems that they would have had to ship it 3 days before I even ordered it. I was wondering what the UPS man was doing at my house. I, too have used their customer serivce via telephone and never had to wait more than 2 minutes on hold, maybe luck on my part. Never the less, each question I posed was answered and any alterations, situations or complications that I have given to Dell has been handled efficiently to my satisfaction. Appears to me that they do the best that they can to supply on the extraordinary demands of the consumer with that consumer's needs as prioriety. I enjoy ordering products from Dell. The only issue that I don't care for is having to deciper the English of a customer serivce representative whose primary language is other than English. It becomes difficult to relay needs and explain requirements. This can be very frustrating to someone who lacks patience. Out of 4 phone calls that I have made in the last week to their customer service I have dealt with this 3 times. I find that I have to reask questions and explain more than twice which is time consuming but still worth the great deals and value of a Dell. I have owned Sony, Dells, HPs, Compaqs (only have had to repaired Gateways from 3 other friends) and I find Dell to be the better in price, ease of purchase, quality of hardware and even still customer service. With ordering from Dell, I couldn't have done better myself and that says quite a bit. Full Review

If any body is in the market for buying a new Desktop or Notebook. They need to go to Dell they are awsome people there. They are very helpful Customer Service. I bought a Desktop the 2400 One. And i love it. And i had a problem with it so I called Dell and i told my problem to a Person there at Dell. They tried to get it resloved over the phone then they said let me just send out these 3 Cd's to get your System back and Running like u just got it since i did that with the Cd's I love my Dell 2400 Desktop. 2 Mounths later I bought a another Dell 2400 and now im getting ready to buy a Handheld/PDA from Dell. There Shipping is Awsome. They always have awsome Sales going on I never ever see them not having a Sale.Thats why i love Dell they are Awsome People's . They told me i would get my New Desktop in 5 Business Days . I order it on a Sunday and I got it Tuesday . That is Awsome Fast to get it that Fast. And it doesn't Take that Long to Build it. If u need your New Desktop Fast order it online its Etremely Fast on there. I order it like at 5 in the Evening and It was at the End of the Building area and Headed to Boxing. I don't know why all these people are putting negative comments. Ever think it may be the user and not Dell? Just a thought. I've bought from Dell on both the Home side and Business. I have had nothing but perfect service at all times. I've bought several Dimensions, several Precisions, a couple Power Edge servers, Power Vault NAS, a Dell switch and a few Dell Printers(and thats just for Home and a side business). I also work in IT at a software company and we buy from Dell non-stop. My shipments have ALWAYS come earlier then expected. On the business side they work with me to the extreme, making sure I get the best deals and even throw in some extras(discounts, freebies, etc). The only part I will agree with is Tech Support. I have had both ups and downs. I have had a tech work with me till 1am way past his working hours to help me, but the next time you call you might get a different country. They may be perfectly qualified for the job, but the language barrier can hurt the process. Full Review

We ordered an Inspiron 1100 and later on a Canon S400 from Dell. Delivery was both fast and we were always informed of where in the process the orders were. With the Canon S400, we were told originally that the order was delayed, but then it showed up just right on time. anyways, we were very happy with the overall ordering process and were glad that we didn't order the camera from those online merchants in NY which advertised very low price to attract customers but were actually very tricky about how they sell you the products. Unless you buy the accessories from them, they will always tell you the products are on backordered. Accessories from Dell are actually much cheaper than those stores. It's better to deal with a reputable merchant like Dell than those no-names. Regarding customer service, we agree that it's not very accessible since they must have outsourced the service offshore and the calls just get routed to who knows where. Full Review

Buying a Dell is definetely an experience. Their website and customer service allow you to customize anything you want, at a very affordable rate. They also include free stuff. Mine came with a digital camera and a printer, both of which work great. I ordered my first desktop around Christmas time so it took a little longer to ship than i expected, but the product was worth the wait...The second desktop i ordered last month came within a week; however, i ordered a Belkin surge protector, and the casing was coming apart at one end. It still worked but, i like any other customer, wanted one in perfect condition. I called Dell and they said, "keep the one that is damaged, dont bother sending it back, and we will ship a new one". This call was at about 7 pm ET, and im not kidding that i received the new one the very next afternoon. If thats not good business, i dont know what is. I own a Dell Inspiron 5150 Labtop and I love it. My only main problem is the customer service. Dell can keep you on the phone for an extremely long time to get techincal help and then when you finally do get through they have people who are obviously not from the United States answering their phone. Now I definately don't have a problem with other races and cultures and I am definately not racist!!! My thing is I really believe Dell should cater to the majority of the population that are ordering their products. If this consists of mainly English speaking people then come on now....have people that can speak fluent english answer your phones. Like I said I love my Dell but the customer service can definately be alot better. Full Review

My total experience with dell has been great. The computer I purchased meets all my needs and I bought one big enough to meet my needs in the future. I had one little glich, but it was resolved far beyond my expectations. I ordered a 60 gig hd. Whe n it arrived it only had a 40. I called cust serv, and for my trouble they sent me a 80 gig!! But I had to install it myself .Yikes. I not a computer wiz, but with the most excellent tech support person, he walked me thru the installation process with such patience. Even when I was fumbling with the screws to the case, he never seemed to mind. The price was very competitive, shipping was right on schedule. I really would purchase from them anytime. I have bought two computers and a MP3 player from them and really did not have a problem. They have always come on time and every thing has been there. The MP3 players hard drive crashed months after getting it. They were fast on replacing it with no charge to me. The only thing was that I had to wait on the phone to speak to some on for all most an hour. The man was very nice but he was hard to understand. A few days later, they called to make sure this one was working. I wished they kept there old delivery company because DSL was a pain because there was no place near me to drop it off at and I really did not have time to stay at home and wait for them pick it up. Ordering a DELL is easy enough for a lab monkey to accomplish. I currently own 4 DELLS and I ordered each one individually. Every time I contact Dell I am treated with prompt courteous respectful service. In my opinion Dell computers are probably some of the finest values on the market. Every machine comes very well constructed and I have virtually no problems whatsoever. I highly recommend their products to anyone looking into acquiring a system. Although Tech Help does ask you to run some self-diagnostics when needed, they do it with patience and will stay with you until they have completed resolving your problem. If you are new to computers, or new to Dell you cant go wrong. Full Review

I am a computer science teacher, and I now own 4 Dell computers, 2 towers and 2 laptops. Everytime I have done business with Dell I have had an excellent experience. Further, I recommend Dell to all my studnets and their families. You simply get a quality product at a great price. I purchased the Dimension 3000 to ship to my business partner in Grenada, in the West Indies. Dell, in my opinion is the best PC on the market, and since I am a Macintosh person at heart, I did much research before purchase. I am completely satisfied with my Inspiron 1100, not only was the customer service great when I ordered but they negotiated a more suitable deal with me and it arrived earlier than expected working perfectly. The price was amazing with 2.4mhz, 512mb, 30 gig HDD, dvd burner for $1800 Australian! The customer service seemed to have almost perfect English skills. When I called after 1 week to check on my order I got more assistance than expected with several Dell people checking it and calling me to give me an update several times until thay told me it was arriving about half a week early! Have been buying Dell products for several years. Have had only 2 problems. One item damaged in shipping, replacement was overnite expressed to me. The other was a faulty hard drive, replaced the same day I reported it. I deal with a wide variety of clients and find that almost every problem is caused by people with just enough knowledge to get in trouble !!! Dell is great, they have always delivered on time and have always lived up to their word. I do get tired of negative reviews from people who just do not know what they are doing. Dell rules. Everything was just about "as good as it gets" I have an Axim x5 400mhz and the screen went half blank. I had bought the unit used on Ebay and had to track down the purchasing information from the original buyer. Once I did this I had a new PDA in 2 days. The service rep. I communicated could improve on his email messages, but over all I give a "thumbs up". I know quite a few folks who have Dell's laptops and had nothing but good to say about service and response. So my next laptop will be a Dell. I'm a computer tech with almost 15 years experience and have seen the best and worst in dealings with service. Full Review

I purchased a 4600c with the flat panel and a floppy modem. The credit application on-line was relatively painless, however some paperwork had to be faxed after the fact. Shipping was scheduled for 2 weeks, but arrived in one. The unit was easily set-up and wortks perfectly. This is my second Dell in the last 6 years, requiring zero calls to customer service and zero repair. The last one I had was actually in the "on" mode for the entire 6 years and is still running in my son's room today. I don't even consider another brand of machine. Thanks Guys. Full Review

Very good and reliable merchant. I posted an online order for a canon s400 elph digital camera on monday (12/8/03) from dell and I had my camera by Friday (12/12/03).No Confirmation e-mail or annoying phone call with a rep trying to add on to the sale.They just delivered. I say thats great and fast service.Whats great also is the fact that the shipping option they offer for 3-5 business days is free! I would definately feel comfortable with using dell again. I purchased a PC that was said to be on back order. I was also told it would not ship for around 2 weeks, and i shouldent expect it for closer to 3 weeks. I recieved a phone call right away saying it would be there in 7 days, and it appeared at my doorstep 5 days after I ordered it. Great shipping, and I live in Canada, so i was very impressed. My only problem is the customer service, calling Dell for customer service is every bit as useless as microsoft, but other then that I have been very pleased, and the PC has been great, and reliable. I have had a few problems with Dell but most of them were not the companys fault.The biggest problem I would say is the customer service. I think if we are in America, we should have Americans answer the phones. I have nothing against any other races or ethnic groups, but after you wait on the phone for what seems like forever, you are ready to fix your problem and hang up. BUT NO! They have people who can barely speak english trying to help you and it is awful. I love my Dell but the customer service needs some help. Full Review

I bought my Dell laptop as a desktop replacement and I am very pleased with its performance. Dell makes a good product at an exceptional value. Customer and technical support has always been very helpful and responsive. I only have one minor complaint in that the wait time for tech support can be a little lengthy but the call is free so it is only a matter of time and they do have a lot of customers to help. Ordered through website Dell 2400 Desktop with extra memory, additional CD R/RW in second bay, and delted the monitor. Rec'd shipping confirmation within 18 hours! Delivered two days later, order ahead of schedule and intact. Took 20 minutes to set it up and get running. Machine is fast and flawless. By the way, this was less expensive than upgrading my three year old computer. And there were even more software applications then advertised, free shipping, and a $100 rebate. I bought a Dell 4400 desktop 18 months ago. I've never had a problem with it. It out performs any other computer I've owned. I ordered it over the phone, Dell's rep's were very helpful, I never had to be put on hold. I've done some upgrades myself, everything was ordered online, shipping was fast. Computer is very is to work on, I installed all upgrades myself. The shipping for my Dell was about 10 days which I thought was a resonable amout of time. If you want a top notch computer, GET A DELL

I ordered a Canon digital camera at Dell on a Monday night, it arrived promptly Wednesday afternoon! Very responsive. The reason I went with Dell to purchase my camera was for their great price (among the top 3 rtailers with the best price) plus they picked up the shipping cost. I own a completely maxed out XPS and I must say I have been quite pleased with its performance. In addition, I have found that their customer service is wonderful. When ordering they helped with price cuts and special offers as well as letting me haggle a little with them on the price. I recently purchased a4600 desktop, and from the time it took to order, unitl it arrived was only three days. That's impressive. I had ordered it a couple of days earlier, but changed my order to add an item, and Dell was very helpfull, and efficient with that too. They have also kept me informed of any updates, and made it easy to get the updates. They are well known for their reliability, and I would highly reccomend them to anyone. Well done Dell!

I purchased a used Dell 2500 laptop and was very impressed with the quality and useability of the machine. This inspired the purchase of a new machine, Inspiron 5100, from which I have had great results. The purchase was made easy with the help of the sales staff and the tech support has been very helpful. I am fighting the urge to go bigger but I am sure, when I loose the battle, it will be a Dell that I choose to replace this machine.

Researched this Camera for two weeks on the net before buying. The Cannon A-70 is the best bang for your buck camera hands down around the $300 price range. Dell's price with 256k memory card beat the on line competitors by $50. Plus there free shipping and fast service I had my camera with in 3 days. Our family has 4 Dells and they are Great. We have had a virus off the net and crashed one of our Laptops. Dell support was fast and helpfull on getting my system up and running again. We are now looking for our 5th Dell,in a family of 5. This is my second large purchase from Dell and have not had any problems at all. My first order was a LCD projector that included a case with the projector (myself, not knowing this) ordered an after market case. When I recieved the package I of course did not want two cases. It only took about 3 minutes for the Customer service to give me an address to send the case back AND credit my account. Great experince overall.

I have bought items from Dell on four diffrent occasions and have had no problems, as of yet. Prices are resonable and everything was shipped in a timely fashion. I have had to use costomer service one one occasion and they were very polite. Everything comes in it's original box and I have never have been asked, much less pressured, to buy any accessories. In my opinion reliablity out weighs the average price offered.

Have to say that in the past couple of years I have bought three computers from Dell for the company I work for and have recieved 100% perfect customer help and no problems at all with any of the Computers. I did phone , each time and spoke to a 'real' person, rather than buy on line, I found this easier and the sales people were great. Good service, also with any little 'need to ironed out' problems

I had shopped for a flatscreen monitor, even checked out what I could get on eBay. In the course of doing so, I encountered a Dell kiosk in a local shopping mall. They had the monitor that I had been looking for. The attendant filled out the order online, the price was better than what I had seen anywhere else, and shipment was promised in 4 days. The monitor arrived in a little less than 2 days.

I am really SURPRISED, is how other no name company with horrible and nightmarish reputation gets more stars then Dell or gateway. Ordering was very easy, had no problem whatsoever. I even got a great deal for my laptop and printer. I was able to track my order (I'm very anxious when purchasing something online). I loved everything about the purchase and Dell, with one exception. Customer service!! I waited for one hour waiting for technical support for a simple issue with my printer and finally resolved my issue myself.

I have to say that after reading all of these reviews I was a little concerned about making my purchase with Dell. I needed to finance the purchase though, so I didnt have a lot of options. I was surprised by the excellent service I got. I place my order on wednesday of one week and recieved it on tuesday of the following week. I've had nothing but a positive experience so its not all bad.

So when it came time to purchase one for my son for graduating high school and going off to college I didn't hesitate to go back to Dell. Once again I was not disappointed! At that time I also bought a new Canon digitat camera and they all work great and shipping arrived a week later again!!!

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 8600. This computer is excellent. I've seen many people complaining about Dell customer service, but i've seen worse. When my compaq's harddrive crahsed shortly after i purchased it, the customer service reps hung up on me many times and took over 2 months to fix the problem. So, compared to others companies, Dell service is excellent.

I purchased the 8300 pretty much loaded. Everything about the order/purchase went smooth with delivery as promised. Everything operated as expected. This is an excellent machine! I will say customer service is a bit of a drag too much hold time, poor knowledge of the product. It takes persistent, repetative calls to hook up with a knowledgable person.

I got this machine one month ago, till now it working great. Intel Pentium M 1.3 Ghz, 512 Mb Ram, Nivida 5650 128M, 40 GB harddrive at price $1699. Good: Cheap price, excellent performerce, great display. Cons; Point Stick button design is a fake, You need push really hard and soon you will get your thumb tired. Great one from Dell, I Love it.

They had excellent service. They told me the package was going to be late for christmas so they gave me a $50 coupon to buy anything I wish. It turns out that my Dell DJ came in 2 days before christmas and i was able to buy accessories for it with the $50 coupon. The people were very polite and once agin the service was overall excellent.

I have bought 2 Dell laptops in the last 2 years. Product, shipping, delivery are excellent! Customer support is the only thing lacking, but only because of the language barrier in dealing with support from India. I have never had anyone rude though, and I usually get through the call with a resolution. Overall experience is great!

I just bought a Dell 4600 package with a 17" LCD screen along w/ a printer/scanner/fax/copier.. It is awesome. I'm currently looking for a MP3 player. I may go with Dell. I bought this product because of preexisting software that I owned and I love it. The sync was much easier then what I have heard about the IPOD and it syncs many more types of files then ITUNES. Dell is much better company then Apple and they prove it again with another superb device. Way to go DELL

Dells represenatives try to resolve any issues you may have in a timely manner and they are very courtious.

Dell is fantastic!! I've had my computer for two years and it's still running as if it's brand new. I also purchased my Kodak digital camera from them in January. It came very fast and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I plan to always order my electronics from Dell.
