I've ordered a number of items from Overstock and have been delighted with the price, quality, and cost and speed of shipping. It's always catch as catch can -- it's not a store that continuously stocks the same items, as it depends on what's available to them at low prices. I try to check Overstock.com for items I plan to buy before I buy them elsewhere -- if they have them in stock, the price will usually be lowest. I am especially happy with a piece of furniture -- a glass doored wooden cabinet -- I bought a couple of years ago. I also like to order books from them when available. Their jewellery prices are wonderful and the quality is fine; lately it seems the prices on jewellery have been higher, so I haven't bought any for a while, but I have some wonderful black pearls which probably wound up on Overstock because the clasps are so tiny that it is impossible to open and close them on oneself (and even with someone else working them, it's dicey!); small problem -- a new clasp and pearl stringing silk fixes it. I am casual internet shopper. Overstock has a good rating, but there were several recent poor reviews, about service, bait & switch, taking orders when out of stock, etc. After reading many of these poor reviews I felt they were written by frustrated last minute xmas shoppers. But I went with Overstock's excellent overall rating. I placed an expensive order. The price was to good to be true. I found the ordering process to be very user friendly. I got a call from Overstock for a security check, and the customer rep was very courteous. I followed my order closely through Overstock's order status software. I got a bit nervous that the $2.95 ground shipping was taking too long. But the Overstock cust. rep. was very nice and helped me overcome my fears. My purchase arrived on time, and in perfect condition. I am very satisfied with Overstock.com and will buy from them again. I am writing this review to offset some of the poor reviews that I read. I've made multiple purchases on overstock and as with my last purchase of a down comforter, they provided great products at great prices. Shipping can take a week, but every product was as described. You can sometimes find lower prices (by a very small amount), but I've spent hours looking or having to bid (and then lose) on ebay. Overstock is a great way to get a good deal fast. Plus the shipping costs is already factored into the price (which is why they only charge 2.95 for all products.) I've had to return an item I didn't want and have had to pay for the return shipping (plus a $5 restocking fee). If the item is broken, there's no fee. So just make sure you want it before you buy it. Overall, a great website with lots of great deals. Can't go wrong for finding birthday or xmas presents (they have some great watches - for cheap). I have purchased many items from every category from Overstock.com and am please with the quick service, delivery of the items, and the prices. Those who wrote reviews that are dissapointed with returns should know that as with any ordering online or catalog, Be careful what you are buying and be sure you put in the correct ordering information as it is a true headache to return anything, I know this because I am an frequent buyer of many items online. As I said before I have enjoyed ordering from this website and have been ordering for a year or longer now and have had not problems- I truly enjoy the 2.95 shipping they offer, and the overall service. I read a lot of bad reviews about this service after I had already ordered my CD so I didn't know what to expect. I was having regrets. But I have to say I'm rather pleased with my experience. I only bought a CD so I knew if they screwed this up these people had issues. The price was lowest, the shipping was quick, and the CD arrived safely. The way they packaged the CD I'm amazed the case wasn't cracked, but it did get to me in excellent condition. I don't know how big of an item I'd buy online to begin with, but my experience for a simple CD was good. Good price, fast shipping, good condition. I have not interacted with customer service, but from other reviews that seems to be the problem with this company. Full Review

Unbelievable pricing on so many things that I am addicted! There isn't much selection for women when it comes to clothing, but I found a great stash for my husband and I was able to totally outfit him for Autumn/Winter in Texas (not terribly cold). For myself, I found some gorgeous jewelry at jaw-droppingly low prices... so I stocked up on their Overstock! The household items are wonderful - great prices, quality and selection. I am wary of their returns policy (20 days from their date of shipment), but luckily I have not yet had to use it. Everything else is spectacular!! Full Review

I have made a half-dozen or so purchases from overstock.com and I was satisfied with all of them. Then I ordered a necklace from overstock.com and had it delivered as a gift to a family member. According to the shipper it was delivered, but the person I sent it to never received it. I assumed that I would just be out of luck since the shipper said it was delivered. The customer service rep said that they would investigate. Within 48 hrs of my initial call to customer service a new necklace was on it's way at no charge. I have bought about 12 items from Overstock over the past 3 years, ranging in price from $9.99 to $439. I have returned two items without hassle (no problem with the item, just personal taste). One item (an adirondack chair) had a small crack in the seat - instead of returning it, I asked for a discount. They gave me 15% off and were very apologetic, even though it clearly wasn't their fault (the box it came in had been crushed, probably dropped). It was a steal of a deal before the 15% off. I have been using Overstock.com for a couple of years now and they are great. Their shipping price ($2.95 per order) and delivery speed can't be beat. This price applies whether you are buying a toaster or a full backyard patio set. They have both new and refurbished items. Keep an eye on listings as they are added, as you can get some incredible deals on limited inventory. And, don't waste your time or $$$ buying another book from Amazon. Overstock beats them every time by what seems to be about 20% or more. To top it off, customer service is very responsive. Full Review

I have ordered from Overstock.com multiple times. I think they have the best value and exceptionally efficient shipping department. One time I didn't receive the shipped item, they propmtly reshipped it. One time I didn't like the digital camera that I ordered, it had some scratches on it (it was sold as a refurbished item). They instructed me on how to return it, and promptly gave me the credit for it. In return, I bought another camera of different make and model from them. Their customer service is excellent. For the last couple of years I have shopped regularly with Overstock and have purchased everything from dozens of books to computer system and even jewelry. Have saved LOTS of money and had great service. Sent two watches back and received prompt credit. Of course there is always the risk of item not being exactly what it appears-so it is important to really read descriptions, etc. I have had great success so far with my purchases on overstock and frequently recommend the site to others. I have ordered about a half dozen different items from this site, including a computer, jewelry & cd's. I have always received the merchandise in excellent condition and in a timely manner. I have had no problems checking out and they have some of the best prices ever. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 for customer service rating is because I haven't had any problems, that would force me to go to customer service. I recommend this seller to anyone.

Excellent experience all around! I have purchased three items on individual orders from Overstock.com, and their service is superb! In fact, I received one major order only two days after I placed it (with standard shipping). I sent an email to their customer service to ask a question and received a reply in 1/2-hour. That is unheard of in my experiences. With most online stores you get an automated reply with no answer... then a real answer in two days.

This Christmas was my first experience with overstock.com and I was delighted with all facets of my shopping expedition. The prices were amazing and delivery was the most expedient of all the mail/online purchases made elsewhere. I used standard shipping in all cases and my orders from overstock.com arrived first. I had to exchange one item on Dec.19th and I received its replacement on Dec. 24th - now that's fast service!

I have bought DVDs and CDs from Overstock.com on several occasions, and have nothing but great things to say about their services. One one occasion I put in the wrong shipping address, called customer service, and they were able to instantly cancel the order so that I could redo the order with the correct address. Whenever I go hunting for hard to find DVDs or CDs, Overstock.com is the first place I look.

The only slight thing about them was that I recieved confirmation of my order being sent after I recieved my order, but it didn't really matter because it all came so fast. I really can't understand the bad reviews here. I have been ordering from Overstock for about 2.5 years now, with about 25 orders placed over that time. I have never had a problem with an order, except one, which was addressed very satisfactorily by customer service. The prices can't be beat and shipping costs are outrageously low. Decent selection of product, as well.

I've used overstock.com a few times now, and haven't had a single problem. After buying online with some well known stores, and having horrible problems with the way things were packaged (DVD's and books in nothing more than a bubble mailer), I was afraid they'd do the same. However, I was thankfully surprised when my orders showed up in very sturdy boxes.

I have purchased several items from Overstock without problems or issues, so I can't really comment on what their customer service is like. What I can tell you is that for the price they can't be beaten. I can also say with the volume of orders that they take they don't have nearly as many problems with orders than smaller vendors that I have dealt with.

I bought some books and a dvd. The price was the second cheapest on Yahoo Shopping, but the price difference was very small and Overstock felt more reliable than the other cheap merchant. Received the order in 3-4 days. They sent email when the order was shipped and I could track the shipment easily using the tracking number. Would buy from them again.

Overstock.com is GREAT! I have been shopping with them for over 2 years and have purchased anything from fur throws and bedding to lighting fixtures to artwork. In the past year, I have dealt with Overstock.com seven times. Each time I was very pleased by the sites service and prices. I have used their pre- order option, and saved over thirty dollars on a DVD boxed set! I cannot comment on ease of returns, since I never had to return anything I ordered from this fine site.

I have ordered from Overstock a number of times. Their prices and service are excellent. Though you have to pay for shipping, delivery times are often faster than Amazon or other online retailers, and the flat rate shipping is quite inexpensive for multiple items. I highly recommend them.
