After a terrible experience with Best Buy in which they advertised a Toshiba TV at a certain price that was not actually available to buy from any of their stores (pick-up or delivery), I turned to Sears. What a difference! Sears' customer service is wonderful. They had a Toshiba 27" model at the store and were willing to special order the 24" if I wanted that one instead. I bought the 27" and it is beautiful. The store is local too and delivery charges minimal... $20.

I bought most of the appliances for my new house at Sears (refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, double ovens, stovetop), and I was very happy with their prices and with their service. Everything was delivered in excellent condition and on time, and the salesperson was very helpful. I have always found Sears to be a good place to shop.

Bought a DLT 3000 Lawn Tractor. They were very prompt with the shipping and very helpfull when I arrived to pick it up from the store. I haven't used it yet as it is still winter but thus far it is everything they advertised it to be. I have always had a good expierience at Sears.

Bought Touched by an Angel Second Season DVD. Sears.com had the lowest price. Two days later, the DVD arrived in great condition. Thank you!!!!! Got this DVD for 26.99 plus shipping, other prices ranged from 33-55... what a great deal!! Irene

Sears customer service is one of the best. They are so friendly and helpful.

it helped me out alot and im glad i got it.

I have found Sears to be very reasonable. I have looked at the negative comments from unhappy customers and I have looked at the comments from satisfied customers. I found a large difference in grammar and spelling. Why are most of the displeased customers practically illiterate?

I went to sears following an advertisement for a 5.1 surround sound system. I got there and started asking the salesperson questions about the different players. They were polite but had no clue as to some of the simplest questions. Absolutely no knowledge of their product. I ended up just reading the information on the box. When I finally found the one I thought I would like, I went back home to look up some of the questions I still had, like what did progressive scan mean. (yeah, they couldn't answer that one)I finally went back and made my purchase and went to the delivery room and waited. Finally, they brought my surround sound system out. (kinda) It was a different brand. They had ran out of the player I had purchased and were giving a supposedly better model made by a different manufacturer. (samsung instead of sony)Unfortunetly, the replacement was different in the one way that mattered the most. It couldn't fit it on my shelf. Sorry sears, I went to best buy Full Review

I can't give sears.com a truly clean bill of health when it comes to ordering online. I liked the fact that I had a wider selection and that I could compare up to 3 or 4 items, so it's not a total zero. However, there was basic information unavailable. The biggest gotchya however is the delivery rebate. It's nothing short of a scam -- it happened twice to me. After you fill out the forms and provide the required paperwork, Sears will reject your rebate claim for $45.

I have ordered pool table on Jan 4th and paid with credit card. It supposed to be delivered to store Jan 13th. Since then they moved delivery date several times (now it is March 17th - yes!!!). They say it is not their fault - supplier does not fullfil orders. They keep my money for two month, I lost other nice deals after New Year and they only offer money back. The only good thing is that I have complained few times and I've got total 15% discount so far (quite a lot on a pool table). In general customer service is very polite and helpful, shopping easy, but I will never buy things which are not in store. Also I tried to buy something online and first it showed that item is in stock, but after an hour I've got e-mail that it is not available any more. Similar story with pool tables - Sears online shop still shows that pool table which I ordered is available in 3-5 days - I hope other people won't get fooled. It seems delivery and online shopping at sears is a known problem - I wish I've read other reviews before shopping. Full Review

Beware of online shopping with Sears! There item availability status is not very accurate. Often, an item will appear to be in stock when you order it. But when you call before picking it up (as instructed to do in the confirmation email you receive), the item will not always really be there. Also, if you order an item that is not in stock, Sears is TERRIBLE about notifying you when it is in. You cannot go by what the email estimates. You basically have to keep calling the store to find out the status. Full Review

I had ordered an item to be shipped next 2 day air. I didnt recieve my item until the following week. It was the shippers fault, but I asked if I could have a refund for the shipping the only gave me half. I will never from sears again.

Making a very long story short. Ordered a fridge on 4/9 for 4/26 delivery. Received telephone confirmation of delivery on 4/24 and 4/25 only to receive a call that it was discontinued at 7:30 AM on the morning of delivery to my new house. Store agreed to sell me new model at the same price (but price is only a good price if you can obtain the merchandise). Delivery dates were established and two have passed with the same answer that it's a manufacturing delay. They did arrange a small loaner which I've been called about numerous times about returning to the store dock as my time limit is long passed. I'm supposed to return to the dock according to the computer voice, not Sears pick it up. Checked with the manufacturer and they say they are shipping the item. I'm now over a month since the order was placed and it's hit my charge card as a purchase with no goods. Can't file a delayed payment with the credit card people as they will charge interest on the purchase from the due date until payed if Sears ever delivers the product as they will find the merchant in compliance from due date if the merchant every completes their obligation. Of course, Sears has already been paid by the credit card company. Great flot for Sears and for the Mastercard but I'm out the bucks. Numerous calls to the dept. mgr and he didn't return the calls for about 10 days. Now I've called Customer service in IL and they have black and white requirements as to what they can do and when they can do it without deviation. They will not consider this an expedited item until they go through each step of the process and the days the manual says it has to take before the next step. They only consider it a problem starting with the day that you call them. If you've tried to resolve at the store level first, it doesn't matter. They will not be proactive in the dealings. They say they have contacted the mfg. but do not follow up with them or me until I call back to see what's going on. A number of big issues with them Finding out they can't deliver on the due date is unacceptable. No inventory tacking on discontinued items so they are sold multiple times. Delivery and sales have no communication with one another. The computer makes all of the calls and they do not know anything except at some point this was the date it was supposed to call They guard the store manager and dept. heads from knowing there is an issue until you really raise cane or call the IL call center. Inability to give you accurate information or attempt to get accurate information in a timely manner. Total lack of concern that they have process problems or that the customer needs assistance. At any rate I have a scheduled trip now and no doubt, they will probably say they can deliver during that period. Anyway, enough said. Full Review

I purchased a Galaxy refrigerator from Sears in August. In October the refrigerator began to cycle from being way too cold (froze all my fruits and veggies) to being too warm. They sent a repairman out to fix it. On the Monday before Thanksgiving it broke down again. It began to make very loud noises and was not cooling. Sears said they could not come out to fix it until the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the earliest even though we had purchased an extended warranty at considerable expense. I asked what I was supposed to do with the Turkey, ham and prime rib rotting in my refrigerator. They said they could not do anything. I went down to the store to talk to the manager. He was very rude. I did not even finish explaining my problem before he interrupted me and asked what did I expect him to do? I said I wanted to at least leave with a loaner fridge to get my through Thanksgiving. He said he couldn't give me one. I told him I wouldn't leave until I got one. He then threatened to call the police to have me removed from the store. I told him to go ahead, I would like nothing better that to be on the front page of the local newspaper getting drug out of Sears in handcuffs. He then backed off on his threat and called One Source to have someone out there the next day. It was less than one week past the 90 day return limit. I asked was there anyway that they could give me a partial refund so that I could buy a new fridge that day. They wouldn't do it. After reading all these other reviews, I know they wouldn't give me a refund because they couldn't possibly refund everyone's money that they sold lemons to. My fridge is now working, but I'm sure it will break down again right around X-mas. I wouldn't spend a nickel in Sears again. I give them 3 years before they are bankrupt. Full Review

Please read this before purchasing anything from Sears... I am experiencing one of the worst customer service nightmares I have ever had with any merchant. I have been trying for almost a month to get the 61" HDTV I purchased from Sears fixed or even looked at. About a month ago the sound on my TV (it is about 3 years old) started cutting out and I called to schedule an in-home appointment. The first opening was over 2 weeks from that day. Not feeling as though I had a choice (since I had purchased a $500 Protection Agreement), I scheduled the appointment. My wife took that afternoon off work and came home to find a message stating that the repairman was sick and we would have to call and reschedule. Once again, not feeling as though we had a choice, we called and were put back at the "end of the line" and had to wait another 8 days. Then, after taking the day off, I received a call the night before the appointment and was told there was a scheduling conflict and I would have to reschedule. That was enough. I let them know that was not acceptable and was told someone would contact me. Next day, no call and the repairman did not show. That afternoon I called and was told that I had no options, that I could have rented a TV for free if anyone would have given me that option, and that they could add 3 months to the end of my 5 year warrenty. So, what I have is a $4,000 broken TV with a $500 Protection Agreement that I can't get fixed. Full Review

Sears service is terrible. I ordered a TV for my Mom's birthday. Was assured that the TV was IN STOCK and would arrive in time. The item was immediately charged to my charge card. Later I found out that 'in stock' means that the item is 'in stock' at the vendor but NOT AT SEARS. The item must be shipped from the vendor to Sears' warehouse and then sent to the shipper (UPS, etc.) for final shipping to the customer. This process isn't explained to you until the about the fourth call to customer service. Up until then, the customer is CONTINUELY MISLED as to when the product will arrive. Right now the TV is in limbo. Sears can't tell me where the tv is? (Whether it is at the vendors', at Sear's warehouse or enroute to my mother's??) Sears won't let me cancel the order at this point. My Mom's birthday has passed and I doubt if the TV will arrive by Xmas. I don't understand the logic of misleading the customer. I do most of my year-round gift shopping on the net. In the past, merchants have promptly notified me that an item was not available for immediate shipping and they would give me the option to cancel that order. I continue to purchase from those merchants. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SEARS ONLINE, due to this experience. Full Review

Sears, you need to get your act together. You used to be respectable place to do business with. That is no longer the case....Buyers Beware!!!!! We purchased a Kenmore dishwasher from Sears two and a half months. this dishwasher has spent more time broken than I have been able to use. Their service technicians have been out 4 times in this 2 1/2 month period to fix it. Needless to say, as of today I still don't have a working dishwasher. The dishwasher gets stuck on the rinse cycle and overheats things. The first tech that came out said the lower spray arm was melted a little. but it was safe to use it until the new spray arm came in. I loaded the dishwasher and went about my day. Not thinking to check the dishwasher I went to bed that night, got up the next morning and left home for a while. When I came back home I smelled something burning. Walked over to the dishwasher and It had been stuck on the rinse cycle for over 12 hours. It melted every dish I had in the dishwasher. Sears is uncooperative and down right rude about rectifying this situation. They are telling us they won't replace the dishwasher. How can this be when it's 2 1/2 months old? Full Review

I purchased a Sealy Amethyst plush pillow top matress from Sears (along with a refrigerator and some box springs) and scheduled deilivery on 4/25/5. The matress was 50% of on sale, and it never arrived, so I call sears and said this matress that cost me nearly 2000 dollary with sales tax never arrived. Turns out their shipping folks mysteriously cancelled that according to them, and they couldn't re-schedule delivery until 10 days later. And WORSE: they then charged me the full price of nearly 4000 dollars for the matress, so I call back after going 6000 in the hole (still having no mattress), and they said they will (allegedly) credit the difference between sale price and the original order price back to my account in 10 business days (plus any billing cycle days). So in short, the thing is going to arrive (allegedly) 10 days late, and I'm out 6,000 dollars for a friggin matress that was on sale for less than 2000 dollars. A 4000 dollar overcharge for at least two weeks on my checking account. Do not buy anything from sears.com is my best advice. Full Review

Well Sears is up to it again, I purchased a fridg, supposed to be a good one according to the MANAGER of the appliance store. Got it home and first it ether froze things or it was too warm. Called, they sent out service man (4 days later), he fixed,,, but never worked, second visit, nothing, then ice maker quit working, another visit, no help, said needed another part he didnt have with,,, never saw him again. I will NEVER NEVER do business with Sears again. We built a new home and got all of our appliances from REX's. God what an experience, frig didnt cool, they fixed next day. Microwave quit, they came same day, brought new one, installed it. Unbelievable great service! SEARS, TAKE A HIKE. One would have to be a masochist (or however you spell it) to want to do business with SEARS!!!!!! How they stay in business is beyond belief. Shame on you Sears, just read all the bad experiences here. AGAIN SHAME. Use my name, email, I dont care as long as it gets back to Sears,,,, of course, they wont care. SEARS - A JOKE Full Review

Beware the nightmare otherwise known as Maytag Customer Service! And especially beware the Maytag Refrigerator (model MCD2257HEW) Maytag sold many of these despite the fact that they apparently knew the compressors were faulty (according to a service rep, who also said they have since started using different compressors). This information came from a Maytag repair man, who came to fix our fridge when the compressor broke after less than 6 months of use. And here are a few other joys you can look forward to if you ever have to deal with Maytag Customer Service: o 20-40 minute wait times to get a rep on the phone o Waiting a week just to get someone out to look at the appliance o Waiting another week for the part to come in o Waiting another week to schedule the actual repair o No compensation for lost groceries when the fridge defrosts or all those meals out while you wait for them to fix it o Being informed that it isnt really their fault because they dont make the compressor, they buy it from another company Full Review

SEARS LIES! THEIR HOT DEALS ARE A FARCE!! THEY ADVERTISE A PRICE OF $2699 WHICH IS $800 OFF A 62-INCH MITSUBISHI DLP WIDESCREEN TV (WD 62525), AND AFTER MY ORDER SEND ME NO RESPONSE VIA EMAIL OR PHONE. THEY THEN SAY THEY HAD A RANDOM SECURITY CHECK WHICH THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF. THEY THEN SAY THE ITEM IS A HOT BUY AND OUT OF STOCK. I CHECKED ON A 55 SONY LCD WHICH IS $700 OFF LIST OF $3699, SAME THING. THE HOT BUY IS STILL SHOWING ON THEIR WEBPAGE. WHY? BECAUSE IT IS AVAILABLE IN THEIR IOWA AREA WAREHOUSE (NEAR THE CALL CENTER) BUT NOT IN THE NORTHEAST AREA WAREHOUSE. CAN ANYONE SMELL A BAIT AND SWITCH HERE???? THE SUPERVISOR THEN TELLS ME SHE CAN GIVE ME 5% OFF ANY TV FOR MY TROUBLES. 22% VS 5% DISCOUNT? WHERE DO YOU THINK I LIVE ON SOME HAY FIELD SOMEWHERE NEAR IOWA???? I first got attracted to sears by their reasonable price, although higher than other stores. Second, I thought, Sears would provide me with better service than going to an unknown or internet only Vendor. Boy, was I wrong or what. The first item I bought, a $350 ping pong table, never showed up and I am stil waiting. It was supposed to be next Monday! That was 8 weeks ago!. The seond item needed a $35 down for someone to come an give me an estimate. That someone never showed up. Then 2 weeks later, after several phone calls and complains, the guy shows up and promises an estimate (for a built in vapourizer) soon!. We kept calling and no one would tell us when the estimate would arrive. Now, after finding an alternative to Sears, we ask for the $35 to be refunded. Sears declined. (We still do not have the estimate!!!). I told sears I would never ever buy again from Sears and I would tell my friends and to avoid this store. Full Review

My washer ($600) ties our clothes in knots. After many attempts to fix the problem (and being told that this was supposed to happen), I was forced to call the No Lemon line via Sears. The recorded message and the customer service rep. stated that I must have a tech. replace 4 parts in a 12 month time frame in order to get the machine replaced. I had 6 defective items replaced in two service calls, but the machine still does not work. I Called "Customer Service" and was then told that the 6 repairs to my machine did not count because the tech only had to come out two times to complete them. BEWARE!!! If you have an extended service plan, DO NOT let the tech replace more than 1 item at a time. Sears does not stand behind their products or support their customers...they hide behind half truths and hang their customers out to dry. I will never buy another Sears product again, and I would encourage you to do the same. Full Review

I used to shop at Sears on a regular basis. Not anymore. I took a snow blower in for service for a simple repair which involved replacing a drive belt for an auger which was slipping. Five days later the snow blower was ready for pickup but Sears only replaced a spark plug. There is no way the repair tech even tried the snow blower! Even without snow the auger would slip. A five year old could have seen that! So, the snow blower had to be sent back to the repair center. A couple of days later the snow blower was ready for pickup and guess what.....Sears charged me for the first repair AND the second repair! A $200+ repair for a repair which should have been no more than $50! And, another shock.....Sears REFUSED to discuss the situation with me! Lesson learned! Never again. I would say that I used to spend between two to five thousand dollars a year at Sears. Now, they don't get anything. Full Review

Everything was pretty good during my shopping experience. It did take a little while to track down someone to help me with my fridge purchase. Then when we did find someone, we spent 45 minutes (literally) at the checkouts with her trying, and failing, to print and copy stuff. OK, so long story short, (reason why I'm posting this) they refused to give me my $50 shipping rebate saying that they couldn't read the number they needed on my receipt. I see someone else saying that it's happened to them twice before, sears declining their "Free Shipping Rebate". Sears tells me I can "recheck my remittance" and send it back within 14 days. How can I recheck my remittance when they didn't send it back to me? I do rebates all the time and I'm very anal about checking everything over and over before I seal the envelope. Bought a 12" Dewalt compound miter saw. Salesman, who I had bought many items from sells me the extended maintenance agreement by telling me that they install a new blade when I bring it in for the yearly maintenance. "That more than pays for the maintenace agreement" the salesman explains. Sounds good. A year later, I take it in for the first yearly maintenance and pick it up two days later. It looked EXACTLY the same as when I dropped it off, right down to the sawdust and no new blade. When I asked about it the response was "Did you get it in writing?" and an vague insinuation that I was making it up. Of course the "salesman" left sometime in the previous year. One, I resent the insinuation that I am a liar and two, I detest liars. After spending over $10,000 on tools for my company from Sears, I will NEVER walk through the door again. Full Review

Sears.com dosen't honor the on sale price if product is out of stock. When I called Sears.com I was told the on sale price would be good and that all I had to do was click on e-mail me when product became available. GUESS WHAT... NOT... Sears.com policy is that the on sale price is only available if product is in stock. This is the second time this has happen. I purchased a metal building a few months ago and was told that the Sears store would refund the sale price when picked up at store. The store had no idea they were to give sale price credit. It was a nightmare from hell getting the sale price credit. Funny... the policy in the retail stores you get a rain check. Don't believe sales rep. info. @ sears.com. Sears.com is a joke. My shopping experience with Sears was what's becoming typical for them - a dissapointment. I ordered a Jenn-Air JES8850AAW range from them on Nov.10 with a projected delivery date of Nov.22. Kinda long for delivery to the store for me to pick up, but I agreed and paid my dues. On the afternoon of the 22nd I called to see if it had arrived, and was told that the delivery had been rescheduled until the 29th with no explanation other than a problem with the manufacturer. Good thing I called ahead before I drove the 40 miles to the store to pick it up, because they sure didn't call to let me know there was a problem. We purchased a Whirlpool microwave/oven which has been a lemon since we bought it from Sears 4 years ago. This November 5th, the second time to have the door repaired, they ordered a part which was supposed to be in by the 18th for repair. It was not.
