I reviewed the prices on the internet and the stores involved. Our local Circuit City had the HP digital camera R717 which happened to have a lower price at the store than the internet. I also purchased a 717 docking station and a 1 gig photo card. Needless to say, I'm tremendously satisfied with the service and the individual attention afforded me by the very helpful employees at Circuit City. Thank you again.

I just went to my local Circuit City where the in-store price was higher and asked if they would match their own internet price. They did without hassle and I was in and out in just a few minutes with my camera in hand. I prefered to buy from an established store instead of some distant internet merchant and did so without hassle. Defintely the way to go.

I have never ordered online from curcuit city before but i read all the reviews and they were good ones and on the other side there were really bad ones. so i am not sure but i bet the customer service is not very good but the price i bet is pretty good though. give curcuit cty a try everyone . ok? thanks .

Not sure about all the bad reviews. This was simple and secure. Product was delivered in 2 days as promised. Easy tracking information on website. Knowing that I was ordering from a proven, respectable store was definitely much better than worrying about some random online electronics company.

I recently had cause to use my City Advantage Protection Plan to obtain repair service of a JVC television purchased from Circuit City. This is the second time that this TV has required service since purchased in July 2002. The second repair was initiated on 9/6/05 when the picture had darkened to mainly blue in colour. Being a 27 inch set the Service Tech attempted to repair the unit at my home, but quickly found that parts were required which did not arrive until 9/29/05. The parts were fitted & gave no improvement. We were then advised that the set required a complete new circuit board, which had to be ordered & finally was fitted on 10/26/05. The picture is somewhat better, but not up to the original standard by far.In addition the TV will now only work when connected with RCA cables between the video 1 ports & the cable digital box ie not using the TV antenna connection on the set which gave a very poor pictue. This means that we can no longer use the set on the standard cable connections through the TV antenna in other rooms without a digital box. We have now given up trying to obtain a correct repair from Circuit City & feel that they should not offer in house repairs until they have Service Techs with the knowledge & correct equipment to test & repair units on site. Needless to say, we will not be purchasing further equipment from Circuit City. Full Review

This is an example of an excellenet store that can't get it's online shopping in order. The basic problem is that they cannot keep track on computer of the number or items in stores. I ordered online, and went to pickup at two different stores. I ran around for nearly two hours (they sent me)to 3 different Circuit Cities, but despite a few individuals who went out of their way to help, they couldn't tell if the product was actually in stock. The computer always said there was more items than there were (usually none in stock). I finally had to have them ship to the store I started out...2 days later. I did get it but it was a miracle. Store pickup: Good concept, poor execution. Have someone at the store confirm that the item is in before you leave your house...if they can even answer you. Full Review

i bought this when it first came out at the apple store the first day the screen cracked and it was terrible. it has terrrible battery life and no memory...for the price its not worth it

Purchased a laptop (60Gb)at Circuit City. Got home and the laptop did not work. To be more accurate, it worked intermitently. Turn on and you may or may not get a response. Then noticed that this was a 40 Gb not 60 as the box said. Someone had probably returned this but after a clever repacking job there was no way to tell that the box had even been opened. Called the store and was told to come on in and they would straighten things out. After an eighty mile drive my daughter was given the biggest snow job since the advent of the abominable snowman. They didn't have another in the store so they told her she could drive another 40 mi to a store that did have one. (No thanx) She asked for a refund. Sure.....for a $120.00 restocking fee. (These gents could make the rent on restocking fees from what I read in customer comments. She ended up accepting the demonstrator unit off of the shelf. Took about two hours to unload all of the programs that people had put on this demonstrator unit. word of advice....walk at a 90 degree angle from any Circuit City store that you may come across. I can not describe how upset i was with this purchase with Circuitcity. Spent three hours with the custome representatives to explain what i need and to refuse their suggestions to purchase unneccesary accessaries. i ordered a Nikon D70s and a Sandisk. i did not received my stuff after a week. i called them, they said they cancelled the order of my camera coz they were not in-stock. but they mailed me the stupid Sandisk. i asked them why they cancled the order without informing me, they said that was done automatically. i asked them what is the point for me to receive a sandisk without a camera, they said if i don't want it i can return to local store. after several days, i received the disk w/o receipt, i emailed them for the receipt, no response, i was tired of this and go ahead to order the camera from onecall, i received my camera in couple of days. please DO NOT got to CC to order anything, or you will regret still mad Full Review

I purchased a Samsung syncmaster 930b. It had a rebate of $70 at Circuit City making them low bidder. The monitor constantly flickered after hooking it up. It appeared to be a driver problem but it turned out the monitor was defective. I called for a replacement. The customer service person was rude from the start and could hardly speak English! Since it had been 16 days including shipping time, I was told to go through the manufacturer. They only offer 14 days on monitors. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was RUDELY not allowed. The rebate form was not included in the package. Customer service said the form was no longer available even though there was another month before it expired. I finally found it on their website very well hidden. This is the last purchase I'll ever make from Circuit City. Full Review

Circuit City's customer service and web policies are the absolute worse. They ran a $25 rebate off the WoW week ending 4/23/05 but ran out of stock online. When I called them on the 23rd to get either a raincheck or arrange pick up from a local store, I was told they havent the capacity to grant rain checks and buying it in a store will make me ineligible for the rebate. After several minutes of asking for a manager the manager made no attempt to find a resolution, but simply said you are out of luck!! Circuit City does not appreciate its customers and have ridiculous policies. Even the store manager at a local store said that was crazy and tried to intervene with the folks online (via telephone) only to be blown off also. Shop anywhere else but here!!! Full Review

worse customer service ever!!! the products are standard and if you want some more clarification, forget about it!!! there's always nobody to help you. you will wait n wait n be pointed to a certain counter and from there to a certain other counter..and so on. by the time you have taken a tour of the entire store. I went to a checkout counter, and the girl just pointed me in another direction (no words at all). So I like a goat follow that direction to the corner of the store and the lady attends me after 15min because she is on the phone. OK, I wait. Then I buy the converter and I have a $100 bill. Surprisingly she doesnt have change and walks me to the other end of the store to customer service to hand me my change. Horrible service!!! Full Review

I got the shaft from these guys. They assured me that with my laptop purchase I could return it within 14 days no problem. Well, I end up returning it because it's defective, and they charge me a restocking fee of 15 percent based on the price before rebate. The dumb laptop was only 500 dollars after rebate, they charged me 120 dolllars or 25 percent of the purchase price to return it. I've complained to the manager and called the 800 number, we're going to discuss it tomorrow but after googling on the web I see I'm outta luck. I could understand if the item weren't defective, but it is. What a crock. I'll never buy here again. Full Review

I went in to pick up a Sony laptop I ordered online. They give me a box that obviously was used, the customer service person don't care. When I complain, I have to wait 15 minutes for a manager to show up to refund my money, and argue about not getting charged a 15% restocking fee on something that never left the sales counter. This is not the first time Circuit City tries to sell used, open box merchandise as new.

customer service is very bad. The person taking up the phone call was very impatient and before understanding what is the situation, he went and conclude that he can transfer me to another department where no one is picking up the phone, and when the phone call comes back to him, he was answering for a short (again, impatiently) and the line was cut off (intentionally?).

I bought an HP printer and was told that it would be at the store on Thursday. Stupid Me for not asking Thursday of what month? It took four weeks for it to finally arrive and when It came there was no ink in the box that had obviously already been opened and the rebate is no longer valid that was offered because it went past the date offered.

I ordered TV and went to pick it up and it wasn't in stock in the area. I wasted my time and my son's time. I don't understand why their stock inventory isn't better
