    The Song of Achilles

    Heartbreaking, yet full of hope.
by gloriouspotato on March 10, 2014

The book completely ripped my heart out. It swallowed me completely and left me sobbing for two hours straight, with many more feelings to come. I fell in love with it so much, that I couldn't put it back even for a minute. When I had to leave the house - the book came along with me. I read it, even when I had only five minutes to spare. My fingers itched to open it up again and let my imagination flow. It's well-written. No, it's way beyond that. The way Madeline Miller uses words is far beyong perfect. She makes you feel, as if you were there, sitting right beside the great kings and princes of the Greek kingdoms. I fell in love with this book so much, I'm going to read it every month, if not more often. I want that book to be my life partner. I want to bring it everywhere I go and tell everyone about it. I cannot describe how empty, but full at the same time, it had left me. The Song of Achilles might be the best book I have ever had the privilege of reading.
