Emotions Revealed, Second Edition: Recognizing Faces and Feelings to Improve Communication and Emotional Life

by brandonramos on February 20, 2019

Waiting is reality. Very difficult book. And further the review will describe my opinion and it is not entirely good, since the book is not mine. I anticipated that I would now get acquainted with the strong, scientifically grounded work of a unique person. After reading a few pages, I was a little disappointed. Perhaps I was expecting something different, and so I was disappointed. The book is sooooo much water, unnecessary information and unnecessary names. The author pays a lot of time to the facts that inspired him to write the book. When the preface comes to the moment when the action appears and the future luminary of science travels to New Guinea, a lot of unnecessary surnames fall upon the reader. At some point, the narrative style boils down to what some Dr. Stevensson said something, Professor McBrough, answered, and the intelligent man Johnson suggested. Who are these people??? During the reading, I constantly had to turn the pages back in case I missed some important person’s statements. Unfortunately, these names once met, no longer appear on the pages of books. Each chapter is devoted to a certain emotion and, in theory, the reader should learn something new and fundamental about each emotion, but no. The material presented in each chapter would be unique somewhere in the 60-70s of the last century, but not now. If I read about fear, I’m interested to learn something new and most importantly, how to manage it. In place of this, I am given information at the kindergarten level, that this emotion appears when the body is subconsciously afraid of being attacked, and the thesis in one sentence will be spoken about almost fifteen pages. In short, the book is not mine. Useful tips for writing reviews see on the site. Good luck reading books.
