The Believing Brain: From Ghosts and Gods to Politics and Conspiracies---How We Construct Beliefs and Reinforce Them as Truths

    What did you expect?
    by tdtimes_info on June 12, 2011

Of course, what did you expect, a mind not capable of belief? What kind of God would demand things He does not give his creature the ability to perform. No one commands a dog to fly. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Sorry to say the book is based on a wrong assumption.

Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything

Fascinating look at memory and a fun story
    by tsl73 on April 4, 2011

I thought this was a very interesting book that made me want to improve my own memory. Foer does a good job of providing factual tidbits and explanations about memory, but then also interweaving his own improbably story into the chapters. If you like books like Freakonomics or Predictably Irrational, then this book is probably worth a read.
